Siam Park guide: what to bring and where to leave your luggage

Siam Park, in Costa Adeje, is rated one of the best water parks in the world (voted no.1 in the Tripadvisor awards for several years running). With its Thai theme, record-breaking slides and a white-sand beach, it's pretty much a must if you're spending a few days in the south of Tenerife. Here's everything you need to make the most of it… and a handy fix if you turn up with your bags in tow.

What to expect

The park has attractions for the whole family. These are the ones you can't miss:

  • Tower of Power: an almost vertical 28-metre drop that plunges through an aquarium full of sharks. The most famous of the lot.
  • Wave Palace: the biggest wave pool, with waves of up to 3-4 metres and a white-sand beach.
  • Singha: a world-first water roller coaster, packed with twists and turns.
  • Mai Thai River: the lazy river for winding down, drifting through the park amid the greenery.
  • The Lost City: the children's area, with dozens of slides for the little ones.

Tickets and the best time to go

Buy your ticket online and in advance: it usually works out cheaper than at the gate and you'll skip the queues. Set aside a whole day, as the park is big. To dodge the crowds, get there first thing and, if you can, go on a weekday.

What to pack

  • Swimwear, a towel and sun cream (the Tenerife sun doesn't mess about).
  • Water shoes or flip-flops to get around comfortably.
  • Not much else: there are lockers inside for your valuables, but the less you carry, the better.

Getting there

Siam Park is in Costa Adeje, with free parking and several bus routes from Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas and Costa Adeje. By car or taxi, it's just a few minutes from almost any hotel in the south.

Travelling with your bags? Where to leave your luggage

The classic scenario: it's your last day, you've already checked out of the hotel and you fancy one final dip before your flight… but you can't go anywhere lugging your bags around. The lockers inside the park are for your phone and wallet, not for a big suitcase.

The answer is right next door: our luggage storage next to Siam Park is in the Siam Mall, just a few minutes' walk away. Drop your bags off in the morning, enjoy the park without carrying a thing, and pick them up on your way out, heading to Tenerife South Airport (15-20 minutes away). Lockers in various sizes, secure 24/7 and from €11.90/day.

In short

Siam Park is well worth a full day of your trip. Buy your ticket in advance, travel light, and if you arrive with your luggage, leave it a stone's throw away at the Siam Mall and walk into the park hands-free. That way you make the most of your very last day in Tenerife.
